The community was founded in 1986 as a community of 135 attached homes\u00a0classified as a \u201cplanned unit development\u201d (PUD). This means that homeowners in Sunset Cove own the land on which their homes are built, which is not the case in a condominium development.<\/p>\n<p>Sunset Cove\u00a0is governed by a homeowners association (HOA). A volunteer Board of Directors makes decisions on behalf of the HOA, which are then implemented by\u00a0a property management company. Every homeowner has direct access to the property manager.<\/p>\n<p>Sunset Cove is connected by a walking path to the retail center located on the corner of Fox Road and Oaklandon Road. The retail center includes a grocery store, a drugstore, a pet supply store, a \u201cdollar\u201d store, a fitness studio, and several restaurants.
