Sunset Cove is located in the northeast corner of Indianapolis, near Geist Reservoir. The community was founded in 1986 as a community of 135 attached homes classified as a “planned unit development” (PUD). This means that homeowners in Sunset Cove own the land on which their homes are built, which is not the case in a condominium development.
Sunset Cove is governed by a homeowners association (HOA). A volunteer Board of Directors makes decisions on behalf of the HOA, which are then implemented by a property management company. Every homeowner has direct access to the property manager.
Sunset Cove is connected by a walking path to the retail center located on the corner of Fox Road and Oaklandon Road. The retail center includes a grocery store, a drugstore, a pet supply store, a “dollar” store, a fitness studio, and several restaurants. Also within walking distance is a gas convenience station, dental offices, doctors’ offices, physical therapy offices, a number of banking centers, and Amy Beverland Elementary School.
